NTU's Run Round Singapore participants have powered home with three new entries for the Singapore Book of Records:‪
 
- Longest Ultra-Marathon of 218 km, with 68 relay stations, and 9,030 participants - toppling the old record of 168km, 50 relay stations, and 3,593 participants set five years ago at NTU's 50th anniversary;
 
- Fastest 218 km Ultra-Marathon Runner (Male) - Yong Yuen Cheng, NIE Class of 1997, at 31hr 28min 51sec; and
 
- Longest Ultra-Marathon Runner (Female) - teaching fellow Adeline Yong Yean Pin, NIE Class of 2000, with a distance of 129.3km.

The five who completed the gruelling, superhuman feat of covering 218km:

- Yong Yuen Cheng, Class of 1997 National Institue of Education (31hr 28min 51sec);
- Chua Kok Chiow, Class of 1999 School of Civil & Structural Engineering (32hr 32min 05sec);
- Melvin Lee, Class of 2006 School of Computer Engineering (33hr 10min 35sec);
- Lim Nghee Huat, Class of 1975 Nantah (34hr 35min 39sec); and
- Teng Teck Hou, Class of 2003 School of Computer Engineering & current PhD student
   (34hr 36min 32sec).
